About this tracker
hormuz.now is a free, real-time Strait of Hormuz live traffic tracking dashboard. The map shows every tanker, cargo ship and other vessel currently broadcasting AIS in and around the strait – the maritime chokepoint between Iran and Oman through which roughly 20 % of the world's petroleum liquids consumption transits every day.
Use the filters to focus on tankers, cargo, fishing or other categories, click any vessel for its name, MMSI, flag, type, speed, course, length × beam, deadweight and destination, and watch the IMO Traffic Separation Scheme lanes light up live as ships transit the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman and Bandar Abbas approaches.
Vessel positions are derived from public AIS data sources and refreshed every few seconds. Educational and situational-awareness use only — AIS is crowdsourced and may be delayed, spoofed or incomplete.
