Moonbug Entertainment has launched Big Feelings Music, a new company built for children’s and family music.

The company behind CoComelon and Blippi announced the launch on Tuesday (September 22).

Moonbug is owned by Candle Media, which acquired the company in 2021 in a deal reported at nearly USD $3 billion. Candle is run by former Disney executives Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs and backed by Blackstone.

Big Feelings Music will offer label services, music publishing administration, and video distribution – including YouTube – to children’s and family music artists, creators, and studios, alongside rights management, marketing, and audience development.

Its initial roster includes Snoop Dogg’s Doggyland, Baby Bandstand, Badanamu, Bob Zoom, English Tree TV, Lotty Friends, Mooseclumps, and Skyvibe, with additional signings in development.

Moonbug‘s website also lists Joy Joy World, Bumble Bree, and Nookaboos among recent signings to the company.

Moonbug describes Big Feelings Music as a “fully integrated music company,” built on the infrastructure it developed to grow franchises including CoComelon, Blippi, and Little Angel.

“With Big Feelings Music, we’re opening it up to others so they can focus on creating exceptional music while we help them reach families at scale.”

According to Moonbug, its content is available on more than 150 video platforms, while its music and audio experiences are distributed across more than 100 audio platforms globally.

“We’ve seen firsthand the challenges artists, creators and studios can face in turning dedicated audiences into sustainable businesses,” said Jon Benoy, Managing Director of Platforms and Music at Moonbug Entertainment. “We’ve spent years building the distribution, music publishing, video and platform infrastructure behind franchises like CoComelon and Blippi.

“With Big Feelings Music, we’re opening it up to others so they can focus on creating exceptional music while we help them reach families at scale.”

Moonbug says children’s music is one of the largest music categories in the US.

In 2025, it ranked ninth by on-demand audio consumption, generating 15.7 billion streams, according to Luminate’s 2025 Year-End Music Report.

For context, total on-demand audio streams in the US reached 1.4 trillion last year, with R&B/Hip-Hop the biggest genre on 349.9 billion streams.

Moonbug says major music companies and platforms have comparatively underinvested in the category.

Children’s music also over-indexes in video consumption compared with other core genres, according to Luminate.

According to Luminate, CoComelon‘s Wheels on the Bus was the world’s most-streamed music video of 2025, generating more than 2 billion on-demand video streams during the year.

Its official YouTube video has now surpassed 9 billion lifetime views, according to Moonbug.

Moonbug pointed to a recent collaboration between Snoop Dogg’s Doggyland and Blippi as an early example of the model.

The two released My Ice Cream Truck (Doggyland Version) in August, which Moonbug says is an early example of Big Feelings Music bringing its music expertise and infrastructure, including creative collaborations with its brands, to partners.

“Snoop and I created Doggyland with a shared vision of using music to educate, inspire, and help kids feel confident in who they are,” said Claude Brooks, Co-Creator and Executive Producer of Doggyland. “Partnering with Big Feelings Music gives us an exciting opportunity to expand that mission, reach even more families around the world, and continue creating music that kids love and parents feel good about.”

“We started out as two dads making songs for our own kids, then Moonbug came along and it somehow became a real career,” said Ryan Bliss, co-founder of Mooseclumps. “They’ve opened doors we never imagined: a global distribution network, real industry connections, and a team of genuinely talented people who care about kids’ music as much as we do.

“We’re proud to be part of the Big Feelings Music family alongside other artists who believe kids deserve music they actually love (and that grown-ups don’t mind hearing 400 times), and we can’t wait to bring more of it to families everywhere.”

Baby Bandstand‘s mission centers on one core belief: music is one of the most powerful tools we have for early speech and language development,” said Alyssa Stern, Founder and Creator of Baby Bandstand. “This partnership with Moonbug Entertainment gives us the opportunity to share that mission on a larger scale, bringing our original music to families everywhere.”

Moonbug‘s music operation has scaled through partnerships with the majors.

In 2021, the company signed an exclusive global deal with Universal Music Group covering worldwide distribution, publishing, and licensing for the Moonbug Music label.

The wider children’s audio category has also drawn interest from the majors, with Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group both partnering with kids’ audio platform Yoto.Music Business Worldwide
