Oregon lawmakers have stripped retail warehouses of their eligibility for local property tax breaks, wiping out an incentive that had saved Amazon and other big companies millions of dollars that would otherwise go to fund local government services.

House Bill 2009, a bipartisan package of incentives for the semiconductor industry, includes a provision that makes retail fulfillment centers ineligible for Oregon enterprise zone tax incentives. Lawmakers passed the bill in the final days of the legislative session.
