Columbia and Sony continue to experience remarkable financial triumph with “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” as the movie has now soared beyond $600 million at the worldwide box office. Over the weekend, it added another $13.8 million to its impressive earnings. This animated Spider-Man venture has swiftly claimed the title of Sony Pictures Animation’s most lucrative film, and its strong performance is persisting from week to week.

Based on the latest projections, “Across the Spider-Verse” has amassed a staggering $607.3 million in global box office receipts. Although a significant portion of this impressive sum was generated from the domestic market, international markets have also proven to be prosperous, contributing $267.4 million to the film’s overall worldwide total.

While the film has already been out for a month, it has continued to see a strong performance. Across the Spider-Verse is down only 35% from last weekend. The film is still playing on more than 11,900 screens in 63 international markets, so it doesn’t seem like it will be slowing down for the foreseeable future. The film also does not have a ton of competition right now, as this weekend’s release, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, premiered to a medicore $60 million, towards the lower end of most projections. The other major film out right now, The Flash, has also been performing famously poorly since its release. However, July will begin to see a flood of summer titles hit theatres, with Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1, Barbie, and Oppenheimer all coming out this month.
