Melania Trump criticized Jimmy Kimmel on social media following his remarks ahead of the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

On Thursday, April 23, the 58-year-old performer cracked a few jokes during a parody speech on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, during which he quipped, "Our First Lady, Melania, is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow." In response, Melania called for the comedian, who hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2012, to be fired from his late night job on ABC.

The 56-year-old First Lady turned to X on Monday, April 27, to share her thoughts. She wrote, "Kimmel's hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn't comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn't have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate.

"A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC's leadership enable Kimmel's atrocious behavior at the expense of our community?" she added.

Fans responded to the First Lady's post to come to the 58-year-old comedian's defense, with one writing, "Your meal ticket is one of the single most divisive public figures in the history of the world. If you want to improve the public discourse, you should walk across the hall into his bedroom and start with him."

They added, "Also, are you threatening a private citizen’s job because you don’t like something he said?"

Others agreed, with one user replying, So comedy is now a national threat but political outrage tours aren’t? Calling for someone to basically be removed from TV because you don’t like the jokes is a wild free speech pivot. This isn’t about 'protecting homes,' it’s just trying to control who gets to speak and who doesn’t."

A third chimed in, "This b---h gone off the walls. Literally married to the most narcissistic man i ever seen. Kimmel is a d----e but let's be serious here..." as another added, "Have you seen your husband's tweets?"

Melania's call to action harkens back to her husband's longstanding feud with the late night host, which resulted in a six-day suspension after Jimmy commented on the 79-year-old's response to the shooting death of Charlie Kirk in September 2025.
