The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has extended an invitation to the United National Party (UNP) to attend the May Day rally it is organising in Colombo this year.
SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara has conveyed this invitation in writing to UNP General Secretary Thalatha Athukorala.
The SJB May Day rally is scheduled to commence at 2.00 p.m. on 1 May at the P.D. Sirisena Grounds in Maligawatta, under the patronage of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.
In the letter inviting the UNP, Madduma Bandara has noted that, in light of the challenges currently facing the country, the time has come for the UNP and the SJB to work together.

Accordingly, the letter further states that, on the instructions of SJB leader Sajith Premadasa, it was decided to extend an invitation to the UNP to participate in this year’s May Day rally.
