Former Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Member of Parliament, Eran Wickramaratne, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Transitional Interim Committee.
The other members appointed to the committee include Roshan Mahanama, Kumar Sangakkara, Thushira Radella, Sidath Wettimuny, Avanti Colombage, Prakash Schaffter, Upul Kumarapperuma, and Dinal Phillips.
Following the resignation of President Shammi Silva and the Executive Committee, the administration of Sri Lanka Cricket has been taken over by the Ministry of Sports.
Consequently, until a new board of officials is elected, all decisions regarding the cricket governing body will be handled by the Eran Wickramaratne-led Transitional Interim Committee.

SLC administration falls under Sports Ministry’s oversight
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports states that the Sports Minister today (April 29) accepted the resignation of the President of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), Mr. Shammi Silva, and the Executive Committee.
Accordingly, under the powers vested in him by Sections 31 and 34 of the Sports Law No. 25 of 1973, all administrative functions of Sri Lanka Cricket will be temporarily brought under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, effective today.
A committee is scheduled to be appointed shortly to find solutions to the current issues in cricket and to implement structural reforms.
Earlier, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced that the SLC President Shammi Silva as well as the office bearers and members of the Executive Committee have submitted their resignations.

The media release further notes that the decision has been communicated to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Sports Minister – Sunil Kumara Gamage.
