Two cases linked to the alleged large-scale financial fraud at the National Development Bank (NDB) are scheduled to be taken up today (April 30) before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
In connection with the primary case involving the major financial irregularities, Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama has granted permission to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to visit the prison and record statements from 04 suspects, including bank officials who are currently in remand custody.
The CID has already recorded statements from several key officials, including members of the bank’s Board of Directors, as part of ongoing investigations into the alleged financial misconduct.
The suspects currently in remand custody have been identified as Lahiru Harshana, Pathum Kotalawala, Kosala Tharanga, and Mohammed Inhamul Hashan.
