Olivia Rodrigo made her third appearance on Saturday Night Live tonight, pulling double duty in her hosting debut. There were some surprise guests, including Aziz Ansari and Weyes Blood.
Blondie legend Debbie Harry introduced Rodrigo's first performance which was "drop dead," America's current #1 song. It was staged like she was singing beneath a cemetery. Recent SNL host Connor Storie introduced the second song "begged" which Rodrigo sang while sitting on a swing. It's the ballad she debuted in LA last weekend with Weyes Blood's Natalie Mering, but no videos from the show were allowed so this was its proper debut. (The track was previously rumored to be titled "better luck next time.") Mering was one of three singers backing Rodrigo for SNL — her debut on the show.
In her monologue, Rodrigo joked about working with Jake Paul on Bizaardvark and sang a "drivers license" sequel about REAL ID.
The first sketch was an imagined 1983 TV drama called Edge Of Destiny that had cast members falling down stairs.
A pre-taped short by writer Dan Bulla saw her singing about having a perfect bedroom (in a zoo on the bug people planet). It's not online yet.
In the recurring ShopTV sketch, she played Daisy Rae Rutledge, a young woman showing off a risqué lava cake.
In another sketch she dined at a restaurant for a friend's birthday that her ex was also attending.
There was a not-timely parody of R. Kelly's "Trapped In The Closet" video, and that's not online yet.
She was a passenger in an Uber where the driver (Andrew Dismukes) surprised himself by spontaneously rapping a dancehall song.

The final sketch was a pre-taped commercial for SafeGuard, a home security system that makes footage go viral by sending an influencer (Rodrigo) to make a TikTok with the intruder.

Aside from Weekend Update, the one segment without Rodrigo was the cold open, which featured Ansari as FBI Director Kash Patel. "I'm a trailblazer," he said. "I'm the first Indian person to suck at their job."
Next week's show, as previously announced, has returning host Matt Damon and returning musical guest Noah Kahan.
