The woman was hit while near The Swan pub in Rhyl, police say
A woman has suffered significant life-changing injuries after being hit by a car in an alleged hit and run, police have said.
It happened near The Swan pub on Russell Road in Rhyl, Denbighshire, on Friday at 23:50 BST.
A 32-year-old man from Prestatyn has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop.
He has been bailed by North Wales Police while inquiries continue.
Det Insp Tim Evans said he was "grateful to members of the public who immediately came forward to assist the female pedestrian who has sustained significant life-changing injuries".
"I am aware of social media reports relating to the collision and would ask that people do not speculate, as some of this information is incorrect and could potentially be damaging to any possible judicial process," he said.
