Wales women's hopes at the 2026 World Team Table Tennis Championships finals in London were ended by Hong Kong in the round of 32.
Star player Anna Hursey won both her matches against Su Tsz Tung and Doo Hoi Kem, but Danielle Kelly lost to the same opponents, while Charlotte Carey was defeated by Ng Wing Lam as Wales were pipped 3-2 at the OVO Arena in Wembley.
Wales had topped their qualification group by winning all three matches against Nigeria, Uzbekistan and Australia to reach the knock-out stage.
Hong Kong had likewise gone through undefeated and top of their group, with both sides avoiding the top seven seeded sides and hosts England in the last 32 draw.
The Championships run until 10 May and began with 64 men's and 64 women's teams competing.
