Viewers of Euphoria have slammed the latest episode from the show's third season, with many criticizing its shocking storylines and controversial twists.
The hit HBO drama has returned with 28-year-old Sydney Sweeney reprising her role as Cassie Howard - but her character has already sparked backlash after being thrust into a string of explicit and uncomfortable scenes.
One of the episode’s most dramatic arcs sees Rue, played by Zendaya, become a DEA informant in a dangerous bid to take down Laurie's drug operation. However, her ally Alamo casts doubt on the plan, insisting she’ll never be able to safely cut ties with the ruthless dealer. It comes as Sydney Sweeney's OnlyFans storyline in Euphoria Season 3 sparked boycott threats.

Meanwhile, things turn chaotic following Cassie's over-the-top wedding to Nate, played by Jacob Elordi. The lavish ceremony takes a dark turn when Nate’s loan shark, Naz, publicly intimidates the newlyweds.
Nate’s troubles only spiral further as he's desperate to revive his father’s struggling construction business and makes a last-ditch attempt to secure funding for a major development. But when his bid is rejected, Nate suffers an emotional public breakdown.

Elsewhere, Maddy hatches a questionable scheme of her own, convincing Cassie to fake romantic interest in a social media influencer at his home, all in a bid to boost her OnlyFans profile.
Fans have taken to social media to vent their frustration, branding the latest episode "over the top" and some have even compared Cassie to chairwoman and CEO of Turning Point USA, Erika Kirk, 37 following the parody that was made of her.

One viewer penned, "cassie does coke and turns into Erika kirk." Another person said, "cassie literally looking like f--king erika kirk i’m crying." Elswehere, one person slammed Rue's recent storyline, suggesting, "Meh, even Rue’s storyline is starting to get mid. Lexy’s plot line is really terribly done sadly because I think she’s one of the best characters."
Another viewer said about the recent episode, "It was better than the last 3 but the bar is low. I am genuinely confused about character dynamics, choices and intentions. Like is Maddy trying to actually help Cassie now? I thought she was scheming?!"
