ශ්රී ලංකාවේ කාලගුණ තත්ත්වයට මේ දිනවල දැඩි බලපෑමක් එල්ල කරමින් පවතින්නේ අන්තර් නිවර්තන අභිසාරී කලාපය (ITCZ) බව කාලගුණ විද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව පවසනවා.
උතුරු හා දකුණු අර්ධගෝලවලින් පැමිණෙන සුළං එකිනෙකාට අභිසාරී වන මෙම කලාපය හේතුවෙන්, හෙට (06) සිට දිවයින පුරා වර්ෂාපතනය තවදුරටත් ඉහළ යාමේ අවදානමක් පවතින බවයි දැනුම් දී තිබෙන්නේ.
අද (05) පස්වරු 1.00 න් පසු දිවයිනේ බොහෝ ප්රදේශවල වැසි හෝ ගිගුරුම් සහිත වැසි ඇති විය හැකියි.
වලාකුළු සහිත කාලගුණයක් පවතින ප්රදේශ ලෙස,
බස්නාහිර, සබරගමුව, දකුණු, ඌව පළාත්, අම්පාර දිස්ත්රික්ක දැක්විය හැකියි.
මෙම ප්රදේශවල උදෑසන කාලයේද වැසි අපේක්ෂා කෙරෙනවා.
මිලිමීටර් 50 ට වැඩි තරමක් තද වැසි ඇතිවිය හැකි ප්රදේශ ලෙස
බස්නාහිර, සබරගමුව, ඌව, නැගෙනහිර පළාත්, ගාල්ල, මාතර, පොළොන්නරුව
සැලකිය හැකියි.
තද සුළං පිළිබඳ අවවාදය,
උතුරු සහ උතුරු මැද පළාත්වලට මෙන්ම හම්බන්තොට දිස්ත්රික්කයටද පැයට කිලෝමීටර් 30-40 දක්වා තරමක් තද සුළං ඇති විය හැකියි.
මීදුම් සහිත තත්ත්වය,
මධ්යම සහ ඌව පළාත්වලටත් අම්පාර දිස්ත්රික්කයටත් උදෑසන කාලයේ මීදුම් සහිත තත්ත්වයක් ඇතිවිය හැකි බව සඳහන්.
අකුණු සහ තද සුළං ගැන සැලකිලිමත් වන්න
ගිගුරුම් සහිත වැසි ඇතිවන අවස්ථාවල අකුණු හා තද සුළං මඟින් සිදුවිය හැකි අනතුරු අවම කර ගැනීම සඳහා අවශ්ය ආරක්ෂිත පියවර ගන්නා ලෙස ජනතාවගෙන් ඉල්ලා තිබෙනවා.
Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is having a major impact on Sri Lanka’s weather conditions these days, the Meteorological Department says.
Due to this zone, where winds from the northern and southern hemispheres converge, there is a risk of further increase in rainfall across the island from tomorrow (06).
Showers or thundershowers are likely to occur in many parts of the island after 1.00 pm today (05).
Areas with cloudy weather include,
Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Uva Province, Ampara District
Showers are also expected in these areas during the morning.
Areas likely to experience heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm include
Western, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Eastern, Galle, Matara, Polonnaruwa
Strong wind warning,
The Northern and North Central provinces as well as the Hambantota district may experience strong winds of up to 30-40 kilometers per hour.
Foggy conditions,
The Central and Uva provinces and the Ampara district may experience foggy conditions in the morning.
Be aware of lightning and strong winds
The public has been asked to take necessary safety measures to minimize the dangers caused by lightning and strong winds during thunderstorms.
