Monkey D. Luffy’s adventures are far from over. The Straw Hats are journeying anew into the East Blue in THE ONE PIECE, a new anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s beloved pirate saga.
Produced by the renowned WIT Studio (Spy x Family, Seasons 1-3 of Attack on Titan) in collaboration with Shueisha, Fuji Television Network, and Toei Animation Co., THE ONE PIECE will provide viewers with a fresh yet familiar experience, utilizing cutting-edge visual technology to reimagine Luffy’s adventures through the beloved East Blue Saga.

What’s THE ONE PIECE about?
Eiichiro Oda’s bestselling manga series ONE PIECE follows Monkey D. Luffy, an aspiring pirate who sets sail with his Straw Hats crew in search of the mysterious One Piece treasure. With limbs that can stretch like rubber, Luffy’s unique skills help him take on the dangerous villains he and his crew encounter at sea.
The upcoming anime series THE ONE PIECE will adapt the beginning of the original manga, the East Blue Saga. Season 1 will cover the first 50 chapters.
First published in 1997, the ONE PIECE manga has sold more than 600 million copies globally as of March 2026. It was adapted into an anime series in 1999, which has been running for more than 20 seasons.
Netflix’s live-action adaptation premiered in August 2023. Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming, and Season 3 will arrive in 2027.
How many episodes are there in THE ONE PIECE Season 1?
Season 1 will span seven episodes, with a total runtime of around 300 minutes. The season will lead up to Luffy’s encounter with Sanji, the sous-chef of the floating restaurant Baratie.
What’s the East Blue Saga?
The East Blue is the introductory saga of the manga, when fans first meet Luffy. It’s named after an expansive ocean, which is the birthplace of the infamous pirate Gold Roger, who inspires Luffy to become a pirate himself and find the One Piece treasure. It’s in this chapter that Luffy meets his ragtag pirate crew, dubbing them the Straw Hats.
