Sometimes, you see your reflection in a snow-covered hill and you notice that you're wearing the most elaborate and ridiculous costume that anyone has ever seen. Also, maybe there's a parasitic billionaire oligarch standing next to you. Last night, the Met Gala brought many, many fancy people out to New York's Metropolitan Museum Of Art. The theme for this year's big party was "Costume Art" — or, to be more maddeningly vague, "Fashion Is Art." Many, many pop stars were in attendance, and a couple of them performed together.

This year's Met Gala sponsors and honorary chairs included Jeff and Lauren Sánchez Bezos, and the attendees included Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos skipped the red carpet, but the visible participation of mega-rich hegemons irked plenty of New Yorkers. Mayor Zohran Mamdani declined to attend, and so did a few other ultra-famous people, while groups like Everyone Hates Elon held very public protests around New York. But plenty of mega-celebrities still attended, including the evening's entertainers. Sabrina Carpenter and Stevie Nicks, two enormous pop stars 51 years apart in age, both performed at the Gala, separately and together.

Sabrina Carpenter gave her first post-Coachella performance at the Met Gala. In a three-song set, she did the hits "House Tour," "Espresso," and "Please Please Please." Stevie Nicks sang four songs — three Fleetwood Mac classics, plus "Edge Of Seventeen." Two of those Fleetwood Mac classics were duets with Carpenter; the two of them sang "Landslide" and "Don't Stop" together, according to Setlist.fm. After Carpenter and Madonna debuted "Bring Your Love" together at Coachella, that makes two performances with pop icons in about as many weeks for Carpenter. I'm not seeing any "Don't Stop" footage online, but here's "Landslide," along with a few short clips from Carpenter's performance:

On the red carpet, Carpenter wore a Dior slit dress made entirely of strips of film from the movie Sabrina, and Nicks wore custom Zara by John Galliano, along with a big top hat.
