As employees react to the fallout of Spirit's closure, CareerSource Broward is holding a rapid response event at their South Center in Hollywood to provide them with resources.

Florida Commerce, a state program that helps people find jobs, teamed up with Career-Source Broward for a second day.

NBC6 camera captured several people getting help writing their resumes, searching for jobs, getting career counseling and other training.

Others were learning how to apply for unemployment benefits, which is something they could be doing for the first time ever.

Career-Source Broward is trying to connect them with other airlines, but employees from different companies were in attendance to link them with employment opportunities. This time it was the Coke Company.

On Monday, the Broward Sheriff's Office was at the event.

“They’re helping them with resume building," Broward County Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis said. "Many have been in a job for 20 years, and they think they have just one skill. They’re hoping to transition those skills, they think they can’t do anything else, into other possibilities.”

There’s also a program through Broward County’s Human Services Department that former Spirit employees can register for help with their rent during the transition process.

The phone number to reach the family success centers is 954-357-8616.

The event lasts until 3 p.m.
