By a small margin, Buick is the oldest North American company still building cars today, and was the first to be incorporated into General Motors. Though not the most exciting of GM's current brands, it was the only one to sell more vehicles in the US in 2021 than it did the year before.

It is also big in China, the world's largest car market, where it has been highly respected for historical reasons for decades. Clearly, Buick has been doing something right for the last 119 years, which is as good a reason as any for us to delve into its history:
