Is Ronaldo Leaving Manchester United On Free Transfer – Sources Tell ESPN” [2022]
Man United preparing to grant Cristiano Ronaldo a free transfer amid a lack of interest – sources tell ESPN
Does Ronaldo Exit Manchester United ?
Sources tell ESPN that Manchester United has not been approached by other clubs to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, despite him being available as a free transfer.
Ronaldo won’t be able to watch Saturday’s Premier League match at Chelsea on Saturday at Stamford Bridge. He was dropped by Erik ten Hag as punishment for refusing to play as a substitution in Wednesday’s 2-0 win at Tottenham at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag was also annoyed by the former Real Madrid, Juventus forward. He left the substitutes’ bench prior to the end of the match to walk to his dressing room and leave without permission.
Ten Hag had previously criticized Ronaldo for not returning home from the preseason friendly at Old Trafford against Rayo Vallecano, but Ronaldo’s latest act of indiscretion has increased the likelihood of the Portugal international leaving United in January.

What do our Sources Think
According to sources, United, which signed Ronaldo from Juventus in August 2021 in a EUR15 million contract, has not requested a fee from the player in the hope that another club will take over his PS500,000-per-week contract.
United did not inquire about Ronaldo, despite Al Hilal’s interest in the Saudi Arabian team. Even well-funded and ambitious Turkish teams were unmoved by Ronaldo’s potential signing. Ronaldo increased his club goal count to 700 when he scored against Everton earlier in the month.
Sources suggest that Old Trafford may be open to Ronaldo being loaned out by other clubs if he is successful in the World Cup with Portugal in Qatar next year. Ronaldo has six months left on his United contract. If another club agrees to pay a portion of his wages in January, Ronaldo may be available for loan.
Ronaldo’s 38th birthday is fast approaching and he has only two goals in all competitions with United this season. Ronaldo is struggling for interest from clubs which could offer him a way out of Old Trafford in January.
