Eddie Murphy wants to return as Donkey in a 'Shrek' sequel!

Is a Shrek sequel on the horizon? It's been a decade since Shrek Forever After, and four movies and two spinoffs later, we would still like to see another one!

In an exclusive interview with Etalk, Eddie Murphy, the man behind the voice of the beloved character Donkey, said he would love to reprise his role as Donkey and would do it in two seconds!

 

Eddie plays Donkey, the talkative, euphoric, happy-go-lucky, and flighty Donkey, who is Shrek's sidekick and best friend. He is sassy, smart-mouthed and funny and, as Eddie says, is definitely deserving of his own movie! We've got the Puss in Boots movies, so why not a Donkey movie, right?

Shrek 5 was announced back in 2016, but there's been no new news of its development for the past few years.

So far, we know that it's in development, but not much else has been announced. However, despite all the delays, it might finally come out of purgatory this year! So not only did Puss in Boots: The Last Wish tease the coming of Shrek 5, it seems it's actually happening!
