With a session to spare, John Higgins secured a spot in the quarter-finals of the World Championship. In a crushing victory over Kyren Wilson, Higgins dominated the match, hitting three century breaks and three more over 50 to establish an 8-0 lead in the second-round clash. Although Higgins has had a disappointing season with a string of early exits from ranking events, he cruised past David Grace 10-3 in his Crucible opener and continued his stunning form against Wilson.
Anthony McGill also had a strong performance and only needs two frames to move through to the quarter-finals after establishing an 11-5 advantage against Jack Lisowski. Meanwhile, Mark Selby is bidding to regain the title he last claimed two years ago and won the final four frames of his session to lead Gary Wilson 10-6. The match will continue at 7pm on Monday evening.
