Jordan, 35. The Kalatas Family, Portland, Maine

For seven years, American photographer Barbara Peacock crisscrossed the US photographing people in the spaces they defined as their bedrooms. Whether a room in a house, a camper or an outdoor space, Peacock includes the voices of those she photographs. Of this image, the Kalatas family say: ‘Our world revolves around autism and the whole family struggles to keep up. But it’s our hearts that keep us together and our large family bed where every night we reconnect.’ American Bedroom by Barbara Peacock is published via Kehrer Verlag
