IT specialists, software developers and hardware engineers are known to be in high demand these days. Due to the shortage, there often is a fierce competition for adequately qualified employees among American tech companies. Apple has now once again put together a generous bonus package for certain valuable employees in its software and hardware departments. According to a report by Bloomberg, some developers and engineers are currently being offered up to US$200,000 in form of a stock package, which will be paid out over the course of the next four years. Apple's smallest stock package in this round of bonus payments reportedly amounts to a still substantial US$100,000.
These bonuses are of course tied to the condition that the eligible employees continue to work for Apple during the aforementioned four-year period. In the US, highly qualified tech employees are sometimes poached rather aggressively with an insanely high salary and additional perks and benefits. Therefore, Apple proactively attempts to thwart these attempts with the just described stock bonus, especially since the imminent return to the office is heavily criticized by some of its employees.
