Former NBA player Adreian Payne was shot early Sunday morning in Orlando and died on arrival at a local hospital.
Payne was a star at Michigan State University, for which he spent four seasons, after which he was selected by Atlanta in the first round of the 2014 NBA draft. In the Spartans, he played with Golden State forward Draymond Green.
Before the fourth match of the series with Memphis, Green wrote an inscription on the game sneaker with a reference to Payne's game number.
After the game, Green announced that he and his wife would donate $100,000 to create a foundation in honor of Payne.
"On Wednesday (after the fifth match – approx. Sports.ru) I will arrange the best press conference for you. But don't expect anything from me now. I'm really sorry, sorry.
I need to go home, start recording my podcast, I can cry there. I don't like crying in front of other people," Green said.
