A search is on to locate two Pakistani boxers who went missing at Birmingham Airport after the Commonwealth Games. Suleman Baloch and Nazeer Ullah Khan reportedly disappeared as their team was due to fly home.
West Midlands Police confirmed that two members of the Pakistani Games Delegation aged 22 and 25 have been reported missing. They are making enquiries to locate the men.
The Pakistan Olympic Association is said to have formed a committee to investigate the matter. POA Secretary General Mohammad Khalid Mahmood reportedly said: "We will not allow these boxers to tarnish the name of the country at any cost. British Police will soon find them."

Meanwhile, a West Midlands Police spokesperson, said: “We’ve been made aware that two members of the Pakistani Commonwealth Games delegation – men aged 22 and 25 – have been reported missing. The report was made to us on Tuesday (9 Aug) and we are making enquiries, including CCTV work, to ensure they are safe and well.”

Birmingham Live has contacted the Pakistan Olympic Association. The Pakistani team is said to have returned home following the enormously successful games. Nazeer Ullah is a heavyweight boxer while Suleman Baloch is a light welterweight.
The news comes after 10 members of the Sri Lankan squad including wrestlers, boxers and volleyball players, vanished during the games. The eight men and two women fled the athletes village, leaving their bags behind.

The Sri Lankan contingent consisted of 161 athletes, including 51 officials, who were granted 180-day visas by the government. The remaining team returned home on Wednesday (August 10).
Sri Lankan team spokesperson Gobinath Sivarajah said: "We are missing 10 people. It's a shame for Sri Lanka. We informed police. Two of them were located and the police said they came here legally and are staying legally.
"They left the athletes villages. Ten of them have left their baggage in the villages and taken their documents. The rest of the athletes have gone back to Sri Lanka, only 30 members of the team are left."
