Netflix show The Crown is poised to spend an entire episode recalling an incident that Prince William "never wanted to see again", according to reports. The Crown will spend an episode on the breakdown of Charles and Princess Diana's marriage.

The show will also show Wills caught in the middle. The Sun reports a source as saying : “This couldn’t have come at a more delicate time for the new King and his Queen Consort, particularly as they’re riding high in the minds of the public."

They added: “There’s a sense that Netflix are muckraking over events that took place 30 to 40 years ago, but are still raw for those involved. The worst element for the royals is that millions of people around the world will view this series and view it less as a drama and more as a documentary.

It is set to be broadcast November 9 - just two months after Queen Elizabeth passed away. Series 5 of The Crown opens in 1991, and a key storyline is the crumbling relationship between Charles, played by Dominic West, and Diana, who is being played by actress Elizabeth Debicki.
